About Katie
With a background in communication, I've always been captivated by human relationships and the ways we connect with each other. After spending nearly a decade as an Administrative Assistant, where my role was predominantly filled with paperwork, I found myself yearning for a more direct interaction with people. This desire led me to pursue a Master of Social Work at The Ohio State University, setting me on the path to become a Clinical Social Worker.
Throughout my master's studies, I developed a deep interest in the intersection of mental health issues, trauma, and substance use disorders. My internship experiences included working in family and adolescent drug courts, supporting Veterans grappling with addiction, and counseling in a medication-assisted treatment program.
My practice is built on a foundation of techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and trauma-informed care. I take great joy in learning the unique stories of each of my clients of all ages over 18. I have a particular passion for assisting young adults as they navigate the challenging transitions through college and into early adulthood.
